With Petoskey State Park on the beautiful shores of Little Traverse Bay in Petoskey, Michigan it is an extraordinary campground known for its million dollar sunsets and fantastic family fun.

The Park offers a sandy beach on over 304 acres of northern Michigan woods and sand dunes. Choose from two separate park sites. The Dunes area offers 70 campsites and Tannery Creek has 98. It’s a great day trip to the beach and walking distance from behind Glen’s Super Market in Petoskey, Michigan.

Other Campgrounds in Petoskey

Another Petoskey campground that’s walking distance to the downtown shops and restaurants is at Magnus Municipal Park. It’s quite a nice surprise and most people don’t even know its there. Don’t let the location fool you…it has spectacular views of the bay and since it’s down near the water its quiet.

Many campers bring their small boats since it has a boat ramp. With 72 modern sites it’s really nice and has a very nice bathing beach on Little Traverse Bay. The bike path goes right in front of it so you can either head towards Bay Harbor, Charlevoix or Harbor Springs.

It’s a luxury Motor Coach Resort on over 140 acres just north of Petoskey on US-31. It’s just past Alanson and some great fishing lakes!

If you are looking for a more rustic campground on a beautiful lake then head to Pickerel Lake State Forest Campground just 45 minutes from Petoskey. There are only 39 campsites right on Pickerel Lake. Fishermen get ready! There is a boat ramp for there is great pan fishing. Amenities are few, only hand pumps, well water and vault toilets. But if you want a true northern Michigan camping vacation, this is it!
