Originally built in the late 1700s Historic Mill Creek Discovery Park
is where history and Nature comes alive. It is thought to be one of the
oldest industrial sites in the Midwest. It housed a water powered
sawmill, a blacksmith’s shop, grist mill, orchard, a warehouse and
several homes.
The old sawmill has been
reconstructed and people in period costumes makes life at the sawmill
really come alive with actual demonstrations of how lumber was cut using
water power.
After visiting the mill you can take a
hike on one of the many nature trails. You will be walking through the
same woods that the Native Americans and Early Michigan settlers tramped
