The Mackinac Island Cottage Cookbook is filled with recipes that will delight you.  

Friends and family who visit at the Donnybrook Cottage always bring a special recipe or two to prepare during their Island stay.

The kitchen is a hotbed of activity around meal time.   Family and close friends gather to share laughter, favorite recipes and culinary advice!

We have found over the years that everyone is on time for dinner!  Not only is the food delicious, but the conversation is great!  There are stories of the day’s activities and reminisces of past visits. 

This shared time is definitely a highlight of each Island day.

Some of the recipes that we will share in the upcoming cookbook are old family specials and others are newly discovered delights that are delicious enough to make the “keep it forever” list!

These ham roll-ups disappear quickly during cocktail hour.  The flags are the perfect touch for the 4th of July celebration.

Appetizers are best enjoyed on the porch while watching the activity in the harbor and the
Straits of Mackinac.

Freighters pass, Coast Guard Vessels and yachts cruise in and out of the harbor, kayaks glide through the waters, and
horses
clip-clop along the road in front of the cottage setting the perfect stage for visiting.

Mackinac Island Cottage Cookbook

The Donnybrook Cookbook is a compilation of tried and true recipes
prepared with love and shared around a large table in the dining room.
The cottage is filled with laughter as everyone recalls happy times on
Mackinac Island. 

The backyard grill is another favorite place to spend time in meal
preparation.  We will share some of our tried and true marinades that always delight our guests.

You will note
that many of the recipes are easy, after all, who wants to be in the kitchen
cooking with so many fun things to enjoy on this magical island!

Marcia’s Mother will occasionally share one of the delightful
recipes that so many family and friends have enjoyed at their quaint and
beautiful cottage on Mackinac Island. 

If you love fudge, be sure to try Barbara’s Homemade Peanut Butter Fudge is a favorite. She has made this for over 60 years and it always gets great reviews.  Try it with a side of salted popcorn for a real palate-pleasing adventure!
